idamın cezaya konu olan vicdan muhasebesi unsurunu ortadan kaldırdığını düşünüyorum.

idam, kararı verildiğini bilen mahkumkişiye vicdanını sorgulatmaktan çok bir daha nefes alamayacak olma korkusunu, buna bağlı olarak bilumum özlem duygusu ve acısını yaşatmaktır. ha bu bir ceza yöntemi midir kimisine göre evet ama bu minvalde ceza olarak idam saptırılmış bir yöntem olacaktır, bence.

İnsanı ve insan kavramını yücelten felsefe uyarınca bir insanın öldürülmesi veya işkence edilmesi düşünülmemeli bile. Aslında idamın bu kadar destekçisi olması, insana verilen değeri göz önünde tutunca beni şaşırtmıyor. İnsan haklarıyla idamı aynı potada eritemeyiz.
