Athillas Thasos, who is a one of the most famous singer and songwriter of Greek, was born in February 4, 1975, Greek, Thebes. His first album "My Redness" (Greek: ερυθρότητα) (Turkish: Kırmızılım) was recorded by Erolus Kosemiyapis, who is one of the most famous record producer of Greece, in 15 October 1998. Authorities said that he would be the new pop phenomenon in the world. However some tragedies didn't give up following him in his life. He broke both of his two legs in 2001 and his vocal cords was damaged while he was trying to jump over a car with his chopper. He had been in depression for nearly four years. He had many operations to get his voice back, and now he did a quick entrance to the music industry. He released seven studio albums between 1998-2009 and have surpassed 1,5 millions sales. The fact that most of the above mentioned albums have been of a different music style, produced with different composers and released between constant time periods demonstrates his unique and indisputable figure in contemporary Greek music. Athillas Thasos rose to fame following the release of his last album "Yam Yam Style" (2012), which peaked in the top ten of the Billboard 200 chart and features Hot 100 top five hit single "Yam Yam Style". He claims himself as a "reaction" to gangnam style.

He had a tragic childhood. Before he was born, his father wanted to procure abortion. His mother and father had some problems in their marriage. In a TV program, he cried about his childhood and said "When people asked me about my parents, I couldn't answer. Because I didn't know where my father was." In the same TV show he also made a quotation from the famous American Rapper Eminem and found a similarity between his and Eminem's childhood and cried again "Shut up mommy. Tonight, I am cleaning (out) my closet." He also admitted his drug addiction caused by his childhood problems.[1]

He also has respectable audience from Turkey and various of his songs were song in Turkish, including Ola Se Thimizoun (Turkish: Olmasa Mektubun) and Dinata Dinata (Turkish: Sarışınım) which was featured by popular Turkish singers Sezen Aksu and Gülşen. Because of the love of Turkish people, they started to call him as "Atilla Taş" which is means Athillas Thasos in Turkish.
