Yeni çağa adımlar bu cihazlar işte. Tüketimden üretime geçiş, büyük markaların bitişi, ev yapımı dizaynların yükselişi. Yaratıcı jenerasyon oluşumu.

Küçükken dizaynların, fikirlerin gerçekleşmesi için tek yolumuz legodan benzerini yapmaktı, şimdi kendisini yapabiliyoruz. İnanılmaz bir olanak bu.

Yeni ebeveyn'lerin lego yerine paraya kıyıp bu cihazlarla çocuklarının gelişimine katkıda bulunması gerekiyor.

Glowforge is designed for world voltages from 100-240 VAC, 50/60hz, so you should have no problems.

There's a 6 month warranty on Basic and a 12 month warranty on Pro. Some highlights:

* If your machine is defective when you receive it, we’ll make it right immediately.

* For US customers, if it develops a problem later that’s our fault, we’ll either (at our option) ship you the parts that need to be replaced along with detailed instructions, or ship it back to us for repair or replacement – in either case, for free, including shipping.

* For international customers, parts and repairs are free, but shipping is not included.

* The warranty covers everything except the air filter cartridges.

* Unfortunately, if you modify your firmware, we can’t cover your Glowforge under warranty (because it’s easy to break your Glowforge by modifying your firmware!)

Many of Glowforge's coolest features are possible because we are running the software in cloud servers. At some point we'd like to make fully offline printing possible, although it may not have all the features of online printing.

Most print jobs fit in the Glowforge's local print queue, so you just need the connection to start the print. If you lose connectivity while printing it will finish. However, bigger jobs may not fit and are sent down in smaller pieces. If you lose connectivity during a big print it will finish what it was doing, pause, and wait for connectivity to resume.

The basic Glowforge has a 4" port in the back and a dryer hose that you can put out your window. If you would prefer to run your Glowforge anywhere, you can get the Basic plus Air FIlter (or the Pro, which comes standard with Air Filter). The Air Filter sits directly beneath the Glowforge and raises it up about 7". It captures the exhaust and scrubs it via a HEPA filter and activated charcoal. It's also controlled by the Glowforge cloud software, so the fans only run as fast as required and it turns off when it's done.

The machine consumers 600W peak, but 200W is more typical - in the range of a desktop PC. Electrical costs are similar while it is actually printing (and much less when it's not). The air filter is similar (and also turns on and off with the Glowforge usage).

Our Pro model is designed for frequent, shared use, like a makerspace. It comes with upgraded optics, tube, and cooling, which allows for faster cuts and engraves. We don't have final numbers yet (we're still tuning the motors and testing the custom tubes) but our best estimate is that the Pro will wind up about 20% faster than the Basic. The passthrough lets you use long materials - 20" wide by as long as you want. You cut or engrave the first 10", then slide the material through, then repeat. The Pro package also includes an Air Filter, which is available for the Basic model as a separate upgrade.

Note however that while the Basic model is a Class I laser (no precautions required), the passthrough slot makes the Pro model a Class IV laser, which does require additional precautions like glasses and warning signs.

The very first Glowforge units will start shipping in December 2015. We'll be ramping up production and plan to have units shipped in the first half of 2016. And of course we're going to keep our backers up to the minute current on the whole production and shipping process!

Natural, organic materials like hardwoods and papers are great on the laser. But it can be hard to know where materials come from. Acrylic is great to cut, but PVC - which can look similar - is not. So our friendly neighborhood attorney requested we hold back from opining on the safety of materials. There are some well researched lists online (search for 'laser safe materials') to get you started instead.

Because this can be a little confusing (not everyone wants to read data sheets to find the composition of their plastics), the easiest thing is to buy materials from a supplier who specializes in lasers. We're going to offer some great materials that are tested and safe. We also highly recommend the folks at Inventables, who have a huge array of materials that are designed for lasering.
