Current Metacritic - 74

CVG - 7/10
Ardent stealth fans will no doubt replay the prologue's few missions for many hours, but for the rest of us, and certainly those who value the Metal Gear series for its narrative above all else, Ground Zeroes presents a purchase conundrum that is not easily justified.

GameTrailers - 8.5/10
Unless you’re determined to only go through the main mission once, there are plenty of things worth seeing. The greatest achievement in Ground Zeroes is how bold it feels. There’s so much new, and none of it obfuscates what originally made Metal Gear Solid special. There’s still thrilling stealth and an attention to detail that’s rarely seen, but all of it is smarter and streamlined.

Kotaku - Yes
My time with Ground Zeroes was satisfying and enjoyable. It was also brief. As much fun as I was having, each thought I had was appended by "…and it'll be even cooler in The Phantom Pain." The new controls are great… and I sure can't wait to see how they'll work in The Phantom Pain. The streamlined inventory system is well-constructed and easy to use… and I bet it'll be great in The Phantom Pain. Kiefer Sutherland seems like a capable, interesting Snake… and I'm looking forward to seeing him get a few more lines in The Phantom Pain.P

Destructoid - 8/10
I can't stress how underwhelming the game will be if you aren't a huge fan of the series, or you can't see yourself playing in the same sandbox enough to really get your money's worth. But for everyone else can't can't wait to get even a taste of Phantom Pain, it's worth the budget price of entry -- especially on a current-gen console.

SixthAxis - 6/10
Splitting Ground Zeroes back into a separate release was always going to be contentious. Thankfully, there is a lot more gameplay and depth than the early reports of the main mission’s length suggested and it’s full of potential for exploration, fan service and Kojima’s particular brand of hackneyed allegories.

GamesRadar - 3.5/5
MGS diehards that can't bear waiting for the next game will devour this appetizer, but the curious should be prepared for how unfulfilled Ground Zeroes' small portions will leave them.
Official PlayStation Magazine UK[8] - 8/10
Rich in depth and quality, if not quantity, this prologue provides an exciting peak into a potential PS4 classic. Just steel yourself for a bite-sized Big Boss.

Gamespot - 8/10
Though it's unusual for everything to take place in a single location, there's so much to do and see, and whether you take a stealthy or head-on approach, infiltrating Camp Omega is a thrilling experience that shouldn't be missed.

Polygon - 5.5/10
It's staggeringly short and unsatisfying, feeling more like a cash grab than an honest-to-goodness installment in a beloved franchise.

IGN - 8/10
Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes is a short but challenging game, and those willing to cast aside conventional expectations will find a lot more here than first glance might suggest.

Eurogamer - 9/10
As a precursor to Phantom Pain, it suggests that greatness awaits, but even on its own terms Ground Zeroes is something special.

Joystiq - 3.5/5
Too good to be a cash-in, too calculated to be satisfying and too intriguing to spurn, Ground Zeroes is a fiscal test of patience. If you can't wait for the next stage of Metal Gear Solid, I'm afraid you'll leave this about the same as you went in.

Game Informer - 7/10
Even for longtime fans of the Metal Gear franchise, Ground Zeroes may not be worth playing. It spreads its strengths thin over too little space, relying on the repetition of a handful of unremarkable missions in the same area.

VentureBeat - 55/100
Until we can get our hands on The Phantom Pain, this pick-pocketing by Konami is the only consequential bit of stealth to be had with Big Boss this year.

PlayStation Universe - 8.5/10
Ground Zeroes is a great slice of stealth-action gaming, filled with heaps of content and strategic value -- even if it isn't quite the epic adventure some had hoped for.

Metro - 7/10
A brief but entertaining prologue that is marred by the question of value for money and an empty story that has no resolution unless you buy the next game.

During the broadcast Kojima himself mentioned that the platform exclusive missions included in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes won’t be exclusive anymore starting on May 1st. PlayStation gamers will be able to enjoy the mission with Raiden, while Xbox gamers will be able to play the mission with classic Snake. The “exchange” will be completely free
