Abstract: With the increase of population and industrialism, total energy needs of the humanity has been dramatically increased. Conventional energy production methods are not sufficient for this era. Also, because of the use of conventional fossil fuels, environment has been extremely polluted and pollution has reached to the levels that can affect human health. Technology development on the renewable energy production methods are not fast enough. This makes hard to use renewable energy methods as primary energy source. These problems will led the humanity to a ‘energy crisis’ in next years.

At this point, natural gas is advertised as the best alternative to be used as primary energy source. Natural gas is between renewable energy and conventional fossil fuels from enviromentalist’s viewpoint. It has very low environmental impact compared by other fossil fuels and also very effective to be used at electricity generation. At this dissertion, chemical and physical properties of natural gas, natural gas sources, exploration, extraction, storage, transfer; the technologic and environmental details of electric generation with natural gas and direct & indirect effects to the environment has been overviewed and explained.

Ben zamanında tez yazarken böyleydi bilmem bu nesli nasıl tabii...
