As you know, we are a few weeks away from one of the most popular crowdfunding projects we have ever seen. Having said this, the Ubuntu Edge still needs to raise just shy of $24 million to reach it's funding goal. Without reaching the goal, the Ubuntu Edge likely will never exist. Here's why I think they will succeed...

#1 Canonical Knows the market
In my opinion Canonical, the project's creators, know the crowdfunding market. They know it was important to launch in a big way, which they did. They then followed with all kinds of cool daily perks, only to let off the gas a few days in. This is because they know, that on average, a substantial amount of funding comes in the beginning and the end of a crowdfunding project's life. I'm willing to bet they have something huge in store that will surprise us all. Whether it's a bunch of crazy new perks, or perhaps a media extravaganza, or even celebrity endorsements. Something is likely in the works for the last 10 days of the project.

#2 The $10 million mark will create a media frenzy in itself
We have never seen an Indiegogo or even Kickstarter project hit the $10 million mark as of yet, not to mention just the sound of a company raising $10 million within a couple weeks from thousands of people is unheard of. When the $10 million mark is breached, I am willing to bet there will be quite a media frenzy, and as the total amount funded gets even closer to the $32 million goal, we will be hearing more and more about the Ubuntu Edge from the mainstream media

#3 Too much on the line
Canonical must have spent thousands and thousands of dollars creating this project, promoting it, and dealing with everything that goes into prototyping a meg million dollar product. They need this to reach it;s goal. If not it will be seen internally as a total failure. What will they do to make sure they see $32 million? It's anyone's guess.
