I vow to faithfully, honestly and honorably serve the reigning Pope [name of Pope] and his legitimate successors, and to dedicate myself to them with all my strength, ready to sacrifice, should it become necessary, even my own life for them. I likewise assume this promise toward the members of the Sacred College of Cardinals during the period of the Sede Vacante of the Apostolic See. Furthermore, I pledge to the Commandant and to my other superiors respect, fidelity, and obedience. I swear to abide by all the requirements attendant to the dignity of my rank

wiss Guard units similar to the French ones existed at several other courts in the 18th century as well.
From 1579 on, a Swiss Guard served for the House of Savoy, ruling Savoy and later the Kingdom of Sardinia. The Guard was dissolved in 1798.
From 1696 to 1713, a Swiss Guard served at the court of Frederick I of Prussia.
A Swiss Guard also existed once in the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.
From 1730 until 1757 and again from 1763 to 1814 in the Kingdom of Saxony.
From 1734 until 1789 in the Kingdom of Naples.
From 1748 until 1796, and again from 1813 to 1829, a company of Swiss served as a personal guard for the Stadhouder and later the King of the Netherlands.
For a brief time (1748–1767) during the reign of Empress Maria Theresa (reigned 1740–1780), approximately 250 to 450 soldiers from Switzerland were hired to guard the Hofburg, the winter palace in Vienna. They replaced previous military units that had performed that duty, and were later replaced by others. The oldest courtyard of the palace is still called the "Swiss Court" (Schweizerhof) in acknowledgement of their 20-year presence.

AHAHAHAHA İŞE ALIM ŞARTLARI IMBA.

Requirements

Catholic Faith

Swiss Guards are practising Catholics. They operate daily in the heart of the Roman Curia, continuously meet people on their pilgrimage to the Tomb of the Prince of the Apostles and participate in the liturgical celebrations inside the Vatican.

It is obvious that by their religious faith and practice, the Swiss Guards are the Holy Father’s “visiting card”.
Swiss nationality

Swiss nationality is a prerequisite for joining the Corps. The candidates need to be able to integrate with the Corps and the latter wishes to preserve its typical Swiss character. Therefore, it is expected of the candidates that they have a particular attachment to Switzerland.
Good health

All applicants to the Swiss Guards must already have had a medical examination in Switzerland and accept to have another thorough medical including a psychological test. Only healthy candidates are accepted in the Swiss Guards.
Irreproachable reputation

Those in charge of the Pope’s security must have irreproachable reputations.
Completion of the Swiss Army training

The compulsory two-year service in the Swiss Guards is too short for an exhaustive basic training to be acquired. This is why Guards must already be in possession of the military skills which they can acquire in the Swiss Army. We use the same military language as the Swiss Army and we share its concept of discipline.
Professional training

We are looking for able, keen and efficient candidates. The acquisition of professional skills is a good indicator of these qualities. As a rule, we require a study curriculum of at least three years or, exceptionally, two years of good professional training.
Male sex

The Guards are housed in double or triple rooms. At the beginning they are in dormitories.

The camaraderie between young unmarried men should not be undervalued.

yasak değil de, ilk 3 sene yasak anladığım kadarıyla.

Celibacy

For reasons of service we are bound to live in the Vatican and places for socialising are very limited. There are very few apartments available. To be allowed to marry Guards must be at least 25, have served for at least three years, commit themselves to serving for another three years and have at least the rank of Corporal.

şair burada vatikanda karı yok demek istemiş
