My father was a terran player, and eventhough his APM was probably around 10, his strategic mind was amazing. We could sit for hours and discuss how to beat a campaign mission, realizing that slow pushing with massive amount of siege tanks and bunkers/turrets was the best (and our favorite) strategy. Yesterday during TSL3, I was sitting with my laptop in the kitchen, watching Goody vs NesTea. My father sat down next to me and said: "Are those siege tanks?" and pointed on the screen. I said yes and he immediatly took up interest. When Goody sieged up on NesTea's natural on Tal'darim, I swore his eyes were watering up abit as he said "This is exactly how I used to play." He had some trouble catching what was going on as SC2 is abit more fast-paced than BW (banelings, speedlings etc) but he could, with mine and the commentators help, understand mostly what was going on. Oh and he was dissapointed in Goody's first game because: "If he has such a major siege tank anti-ground army, wouldn't it be obvious that the enemy would get air forces? Why wasn't he prepared?" Well, I couldn't argue with that. When I told him that there were about ~50.000 total viewers, he was completely amazed. And rightly so, because it's totally insane. Today we're going to watch it again. Feels kinda weird, I'm 20 and he's 56, and we're watching other people play computer games. Quite amazing what StarCraft 2 can be for those with an open mind, isn't it? Oh and if Goody would read this, my dad is a huge fan!
