Bu yıl iki ödül birden alan tek marka olan BMW, biri 286 beygir gücünde dizel ve diğeri 306 beygir gücündeki benzinli olmak üzere iki çift turbolu ve 6 silindirli motoru Ward'ın uzman hakemlerden oluşan jüri heyeti tarafından 2009 yılının En İyi 10 Motoru listesine seçildi. BWM Grubunun Aktarma Organları Gelişimi Genel Müdürü Hans Hohenner kazanmış oldukları bu iki ödül ile ilgili olarak "Bu iki ödül, BMW'nin EfficientDynamics mühendislik stratejisinin günümüzde sürücülerin beklediği performansı ve verimliliği sunduğunun göstergesidir.
