It was a bad day, worse than usual, then I saw the rainbow and took a few moments to look at it; to let the joy of something beautiful wash away my depression. It was peculiar though, for a rainbow to be inside. I’ve seen some colored lights formed because of a glass or a watch before, but this one looked like an actual rainbow. After I tracked the rainbow back to light bouncing off a CD on my desk, I couldn’t help but remember how I had just read about leprechauns hiding their gold under rainbows. I had also read about leprechaun’s gold being lucky, and was in desperate need of luck, so I decided to look at the exact place the rainbow began to see if there was any gold there. Now this was tricky, because the rainbow was above a wardrobe. I pulled up a chair and looked on the wardrobe; nothing but some old figurines. As I was trying to get down the chair, my brother came in, and asked me what I was doing. I told him about the rainbow and the leprechauns. He glanced at the rainbow : “It seems to be starting next to the wardrobe, not on it.” he said. I checked to see if he was right and he was; the rainbow began in the little space between the wall and the wardrobe. There was a lot of junk in that little space, like old paintings I had made, an embroidered table cloth which looked pretty but dirty, some newspaper clippings; and, surprisingly, two feet below the actual place on the wall where the rainbow began, a big pouch. My brother left the room; clearly not excited as I am about the whole situation. I opened the pouch as quickly as I could, if it had been made of paper, I would’ve ripped it apart. My eyes grew slightly wide as I looked at what was inside. There weren’t gold coins as I had imagined it to be, but there was a golden vase. I touched it, and felt the cold metal, and adored the shiny outer coat, thinking how amazing it was to have found a golden vase under a rainbow. Now there were two explanations to why that vase was there. Either the leprechauns had put it, or my parents had received it as a gift which they didn’t like; and left it there to rot with my crappy paintings and news papers. I never asked my parents if the vase was theirs. The day after was a very lucky day. Link to comment Sosyal ağlarda paylaş Daha fazla paylaşım seçeneği…
